Khyati Joshi Headlines John Bartlett Campaign, Targets Indian-American Vote

New Jersey, Jersey City, USA: Professor Khyati Joshi, a well-known community figure, is expected to play an influential role in mobilizing Indian-American backing for her husband, Democratic congressional hopeful John Bartlett.

Joshi has emerged as one of the most visible advocates of Bartlett’s bid for office in New Jersey. In his newest campaign release, which marks his second television advertisement, Joshi takes center stage as the principal campaign voice. The video, titled My Husband, features her directly addressing voters and urging them to support Bartlett.

In the message, Joshi criticizes career politicians who prioritize personal gain over public duty. She states that the state has seen enough leaders focused on self-interest rather than serving the people, adding that voters are well aware of such patterns and are weary of them. She emphasizes that Bartlett stands apart from that mold.

Joshi serves as a professor of education at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her academic specialization includes immigrant and second-generation Americans in K-12 education, religion in public schools, multicultural learning, race relations in the United States, immigrant faith communities, and the racial framing of religion. At FDU, she teaches courses such as The Multicultural Classroom, Capstone Research, Religion in Schools and Society, Race Religion and the Law, and World Religions in America.

She completed her doctorate in social justice education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earned a graduate degree from Emory University, and pursued advanced studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

During the video, Joshi outlines her husband’s professional record, noting that he successfully challenged Trump in the Supreme Court to safeguard immigrant rights, defended public health workers from budget reductions proposed by RFK Jr., and won court battles against the Republican Party to protect voting rights. She asserts that Bartlett is a leader North Jersey can rely on, adding that she would make the same claim even if he were not her spouse.

Bartlett currently serves as a county commissioner and is a voting rights lawyer contesting the special election for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. He has recently reached out directly to Indian-American voters, encouraging the community to support his candidacy.
