Leander School Bus Overturns, Multiple Students Injured

A school bus carrying 42 students and one adult from Bagdad Elementary School overturned in Leander, Texas, on Wednesday afternoon, injuring several children.

Two youngsters were flown out for urgent treatment, while the driver suffered injuries as well.

The crash occurred around 3:16 p.m. in the Sandy Creek area. One person suffered life-threatening injuries, two had serious injuries, and others had non-life-threatening wounds. Emergency crews set up a reunification centre at Round Mountain Baptist Church for families.

All affected children received immediate medical care at different hospitals, and their families were promptly informed.

Officials stressed that no fatalities or life-threatening injuries occurred among children. The cause is under investigation; the incident happened on Leander ISD’s first school day of the year.
