Barcelona: Electronics giant Lenovo has unveiled a groundbreaking laptop—the world’s first ultra-slim solar-powered laptop. Named ‘Yoga Solar PC’, this device can run for about an hour with just 20 minutes of solar charging. The innovation is expected to pave the way for future solar-powered technology. Lenovo introduced this laptop at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, calling it the world’s first ultra-slim solar PC.
The Lenovo solar laptop features a removable lid with a built-in solar panel, containing 84 back-contact solar cells. This design allows the laptop to achieve a 24% energy conversion rate, which is significantly higher than traditional silicon-based panels. The laptop is capable of functioning both outdoors and indoors. Lenovo is also considering introducing a solar power kit for its existing Yoga laptop series.
Finland-based HMD has launched a kid-friendly smartphone called ‘Fusion X1’ at the Mobile World Congress. The device is designed with parental controls, allowing parents to set app limits, schedule screen time, and track their child's location every 20 seconds. Available via a subscription model, this phone enhances child safety with its advanced monitoring features.
