A Malaysian police helicopter crashed into the Sungai Pulai River in Johor during a MITSATOM 2025 flypast on Thursday morning, injuring all five officers on board.
The Airbus AS355N nosedived mid-demonstration, shocking witnesses and prompting an aviation investigation.
The helicopter bearing registration 9M-PHG departed from Tanjung Kupang at 9:51 a.m. local time. All five personnel were rescued and taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital. Two are critically injured, while three remain stable.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia has labeled it a serious incident, with the Air Accident Investigation Bureau leading the probe. The crash has raised safety concerns, although MITSATOM 2025 continues with added caution.
