A gas tanker explosion on a major Mexico City highway killed three people and injured over 70, including 19 in critical condition, Mayor Clara Brugara said Wednesday.

The blast burned 18 vehicles after the truck, carrying 49,500 liters of gas, overturned.

Videos shared online show massive flames, thick smoke, and chaos as people fled the scene.

One clip depicts a severely injured woman with torn clothes, while others capture vehicles dangerously close to the fire near densely populated areas. Authorities have launched an investigation.
