Atlacomulco, Mexico: A freight train hit a double-decker bus in Atlacomulco, 130 km from Mexico City, killing 10 and injuring over 60.
The Herradura de Plata bus was torn into pieces, leaving passengers rushing to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment.
The crash happened at an unprotected crossing with no gates or signals. A clip captured the moment a train slammed into the middle of a traffic-stalled bus, pulling it several meters down the tracks.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City of Mexico confirmed the accident and offered condolences. Families of victims waited at the site for updates.
Mexico recorded more than 800 railway crossing mishaps last year, with past tragedies also reported in Guanajuato (2024) and Queretaro (2019).
