Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA: Massachusetts Institute of Technology has selected Indian American electrical engineer Anantha Chandrakasan for its 2025–27 Committed to Caring (C2C) faculty cohort, a recognition based on nominations submitted by graduate students across the Institute.
The Committed to Caring initiative honors faculty whose impact extends beyond teaching and research, highlighting sustained mentorship, advocacy, and support for students academic and personal development. Chandrakasan, who serves as MIT provost and Vannevar Bush Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, is among 18 faculty members chosen in this student-led program, which has recognized nearly 100 professors since its launch in 2014.
A panel of graduate students and staff reviewed nomination letters describing faculty influence on student experiences and the broader graduate community. MIT Office of Graduate Education will publish feature stories on the honorees in the coming months, with a formal reception planned in April to celebrate their contributions.
