New IAGB Leaders in Boston: What Next for the Community?

Massachusetts, Boston, USA: Nilesh Agrawal and Deepak Garg, the newly elected leaders of the India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB), have set their sights on youth empowerment, civic partnerships, and broader community engagement as their key priorities.

The association elected its new Executive Committee for the 2025–2027 term during the Annual General Body Meeting held on September 13. In this election, Nilesh Agrawal was chosen as President and Deepak Garg as Vice President.

The results were declared by the election panel, consisting of trustees Vaishali Gade, Dr. Anupam Wali, and Harish Dang, after a thorough review process. The team also announced Ashalata Thotangare as Secretary, while Shashwati Das, Prashant Kulkarni, Arpita Das Pathak, Vijendra Bhargava, Jharna Madan, and Manishabrata Bhowmick were named Directors. The position of Treasurer, along with additional Directors, will be finalized once the new committee officially takes charge.

Agrawal, who earlier served as Vice President, expressed his commitment to leading the organization with inclusivity and collaboration at its core. “I am honored to step into this role and guide IAGB into its next phase,” he stated. He highlighted his vision for transforming IAGB into a dynamic and impact-driven platform that celebrates Indian culture while fostering youth leadership, building stronger civic connections, and engaging underrepresented communities.

Garg, who is currently the Treasurer, underlined the importance of continuity and stronger community bonds. “My focus will remain on advancing IAGB’s mission and supporting our vibrant community,” he said. He further shared plans to expand year-round programs, strengthen youth involvement, enhance transparency in operations, and increase resources to sustain long-term growth.

Outgoing President Tanu Phoenix, whose term concludes on September 30, reflected on her tenure with gratitude. “It has been a privilege to serve as IAGB President,” she remarked. “I am thrilled to announce that Nilesh Agrawal will take over as President from October 1, 2025.” She extended her thanks to members, volunteers, and community supporters for their dedication and contributions throughout her leadership.
