New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon visited the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi. During this visit, he inquired about various aspects of the temple. Along with him, a delegation of 110 members, including New Zealand government officials, ministers, businessmen, and community representatives, also visited the temple on Tuesday. Luxon and his delegation were deeply impressed by the spiritual and cultural grandeur of the BAPS temple. They were warmly welcomed by the temple priests.
The delegation learned about the significance of the Akshardham temple, which reflects India's rich heritage, devotion, and values. As a mark of respect, Luxon offered flowers at the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple, symbolizing unity and spirituality. He also participated in the Hindu water offering ritual "Abhishek" to pray for peace, harmony, and well-being. Luxon stated that this visit would help strengthen cultural exchange and deepen cooperation between New Zealand and India.
During the visit, Luxon was presented with a sacred Hindu scripture written by Mahant Swami Maharaj, along with the first printed edition of "Satsang Diksha" in the MÄori language. This meaningful gift highlighted the shared values of faith, culture, and devotion between India and New Zealand. Concluding the visit, Luxon shared his experience, saying that witnessing the grandeur of Akshardham and bringing New Zealand’s business and community leaders here was an honor. He also praised the contributions of the Hindu community in New Zealand and recalled his visit to Auckland's BAPS temple in 2023.
