Since early this year, around 1,100 Indian nationals have either been deported or have voluntarily returned from the United States, as per the Ministry of External Affairs. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal revealed that 1,080 were deported, with 62% arriving on commercial flights.

He highlighted the strong collaboration between India and the US in addressing illegal immigration. Jaiswal also revealed that talks are underway with Iranian authorities concerning the mysterious disappearance of three Indian citizens.
