Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Mauritius for a two-day visit. On Tuesday, he received a warm welcome at the Port Louis airport. Modi departed from Delhi at midnight on Monday and expressed that this visit would mark a new chapter in the relations between India and Mauritius. On Wednesday, Mauritius will celebrate its 57th National Day, where Modi will attend as the Chief Guest.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
PM Modi's visit comes at the invitation of Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam. On Tuesday, both countries are set to engage in discussions on bilateral relations, covering areas such as capacity building, trade, and several agreements that will be signed between the two nations.
India’s Participation in Mauritius National Day Celebrations
During Mauritius’ 57th National Day celebrations on Wednesday, contingents from the Indian Armed Forces, an Indian Navy warship, and the Akash Ganga skydiving team from the Indian Air Force will participate in the grand event, showcasing strong ties between the two nations.
