Argentina President Javier Mili has announced 70,000 government layoffs.

Argentina's President Javier Mili has announced that 70,000 government workers will be laid off in the coming months.

Layoffs in Argentina: According to a Bloomberg report, An aggressive strategy has been put in place to reduce the financial burden on the government. Although the layoffs are small compared to Argentina's 3.5 million public sector workers, they are expected to face strong opposition from labour unions.

The contracts of thousands of contract employees working in the public sector in Argentina will expire on March 31. Although the contract ended last year, the government extended it for another three months. Union leaders have warned that unfair dismissals will not be tolerated.
