Russia conducted a massive aerial assault on Ukraine this week, deploying 574 drones and 40 missiles, with western regions bearing the brunt.
The strikes resulted in at least one fatality and left 15 people injured. Ukrainian officials reported that a major American electronics company was among the targets.
Western Ukraine, far from active combat zones, stores much of the military aid sent by allies.
Analysts note that this assault ranks among Russia’s largest drone and missile operations this year.
The timing coincided with US President Donald Trump’s diplomatic initiatives, which included discussions with Ukrainian and European leaders about a potential trilateral summit aimed at long-term peace.
