The Saudi Arabian government has completely denied reports that visas for Indians were banned during the Hajj pilgrimage. The Saudi government stated that it has not issued any such notification regarding this matter. Several media reports claimed that, considering the Hajj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia temporarily suspended work visas for 14 countries, including India. According to ANI, the news that Saudi Arabia canceled visas for Indians is false. The Saudi government has not issued any official statement on this issue. While some temporary restrictions were placed on certain short-term visas to avoid overcrowding during the Hajj pilgrimage, these restrictions will be lifted once the pilgrimage ends.
Many media reports stated that Saudi Arabia canceled work visas for 14 countries until June 30 as part of the Hajj pilgrimage. The list of these 14 countries includes India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Yemen, Morocco, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Tunisia.
