Siddharth Pandey Appointed to Penn State GEMS Board for Three-Year Term in 2026

University Park, Pennsylvania, USA: Siddharth Pandey, an Indian American expert in geospatial technologies and a Penn State University alumnus, has been selected to join the board of the Graduates of Earth and Mineral Sciences (GEMS). His three-year term will begin on July 1, 2026.

The GEMS board, established in 1994, supports alumni engagement, networking programs, and outreach activities linked to the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. Pandey will serve alongside Quentin Lawson-Parchment as one of the two newest additions to the 16-member panel. His appointment brings more than ten years of professional experience in location intelligence to the board.

Pandey completed his geography degree from Penn State in 2014 and currently works at Deloitte & Touche as a location intelligence manager. In this role, he helps organizations utilize geospatial data for planning, environmental assessments, risk evaluation, and other strategic decisions—areas that closely support the college’s academic goals.

Over the past decade, he has been recognized several times for his contributions to the geospatial field. His achievements include being named to xyHt’s “40 Under 40” list in 2018, Geospatial World’s “50 Rising Stars” in 2021, and receiving multiple honors from the Geospatial Professional Network (GPN), including the Young Professional of the Year award in 2022 and a leadership award in 2023. He also serves on the GPN board and previously led its Vanguard Cabinet.

Pandey expressed that the appointment resonates with his commitment to advancing geospatial sciences and supporting new professionals entering the field. He noted that joining the GEMS board gives him an opportunity to contribute to the university that shaped his academic and professional foundation while helping guide current and upcoming students.

His work at Deloitte includes leading projects that blend GIS with business analytics to support organizations in solving environmental and resource-related challenges. While other university councils focus on fundraising and alumni growth, the GEMS board is primarily involved in student mentorship, career development, and strengthening professional pathways.
