The organization operates a duplex in Brampton, hosts a Help Line, and offers legal and crisis support.

Founded by a team of professionals including lawyers, entrepreneurs, doctors, and social workers, Sukhmani Haven has steadily expanded its support. In 2022, its fundraising dinner enabled housing for 34 students and additional financial assistance.

International students in Canada face challenges such as high tuition (often four times domestic rates), limited housing, inflation, social unrest, and misleading guidance from agents. Ontario colleges heavily rely on international student revenue, with Indian students alone contributing $2 billion in 2023.

Sukhmani Haven continues to advocate for social and financial support to help students thrive amid strict immigration rules, unaffordable housing, and underfunded post-secondary institutions. The organization’s next fundraiser is planned for September 10 to sustain and expand its initiatives.

It also acknowledges and respects the Indigenous lands of Mississauga and the surrounding areas.
