The TANA Mid-Atlantic Women’s Division grandly organized International Women’s Day celebrations in Philadelphia. The event took place at Peirce Middle School in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with over a thousand attendees enjoying cultural performances, inspiring speeches, a dynamic fashion show, stalls, and a delicious feast, making it a six-hour non-stop entertainment experience.
As part of the event, TANA Board of Director Ravi Potluri honored Dr. Janaki Kaja, a renowned pediatrician serving in Dover, Delaware, for over five decades. Dr. Janaki Kaja delivered an inspiring speech, sharing her experiences since arriving in America in 1971. She emphasized that, like India, America has been a land of opportunities for her. Despite visiting 86 countries and working in hospitals, she has always worn a saree, considering it a symbol of Indian cultural pride. She encouraged women to overcome challenges with determination and seize opportunities for success in life.
The TANA Mid-Atlantic Women’s team worked tirelessly to make the event successful under the leadership of Women’s Committee Chair Saroja Pavuluri. Host Lakshmi Manda impressed everyone with her energetic presentation. Several team members, including Rajeswari Kodali, Bhavani Kottapalli, Soujanya Koganti, and others, were appreciated for their efforts. TANA Board of Director Ravi Potluri praised the contributions of Dr. Janaki Kaja and her husband, who have dedicated millions of dollars to philanthropic activities in both America and the Telugu states. He also acknowledged volunteers, sponsors, and donors who supported the event. Additionally, he announced that the 24th TANA Conference will be held in Detroit from July 3-5, 2025.
