West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA: TANA Mid-Atlantic celebrated Ugadi in Pennsylvania with over 1,800 attendees, featuring cultural programs, Panchangam reading, and performances by Anirudh Suswaram.
The Mid-Atlantic chapter of the North American Telugu Association (TANA) hosted grand Ugadi celebrations at West Chester East High School in Pennsylvania, drawing an enthusiastic gathering of over 1,800 Telugu community members along with their families.
The event was organized under the leadership of TANA Board Director Ravi Potluri, Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative Phani Kantheti, Benefit Coordinator Venkat Singh, and Satish Tummala, showcasing the vibrancy of Telugu culture and traditions on an international platform.
The celebrations commenced at 3:45 PM with a traditional prayer, followed by the Ugadi Panchangam reading, which captivated attendees. Ugadi pachadi was distributed, symbolizing the essence of the festival.
Cultural performances formed a key highlight of the event, with local artists delivering vibrant dance performances. Indian Idol fame Anirudh Suswaram enthralled the audience with his musical presentation, while TANA International Coordinator K.P. Sompalli delivered a mythological monologue that added depth to the celebrations.
The organizers extended their gratitude to contributors including Dr. Naidu, Dr. Pramila Motupalli, Thirumal Munukuntla, Subrahmanyam Osur, Ramakrishna Tadisetty, sponsors, volunteers, and the TANA Mid-Atlantic Girls Club for their support in fundraising efforts. Special appreciation was conveyed to Telangana Spices Kitchen for serving as the grand sponsor.
The event was gracefully hosted by Shweta Kommoji, whose eloquence added to the program’s success.
In his address, Ravi Potluri commended the Mid-Atlantic team for their efforts in preserving Telugu heritage and thanked artists, sponsors, volunteers, and community members for making the event a grand success.
Prominent attendees included TANA Treasurer Raja Kasukurthy, New Jersey Representative Sudhir Narepalepu, and New York Representative Srinivas Bharavarapu, who were felicitated during the ceremony.
Certificates were presented to volunteers as part of the Ugadi initiative, while winners of a recently held chess tournament were awarded trophies.
