Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA: Mid-Atlantic youth members of the North American Telugu Association (TANA) completed a major humanitarian initiative by collecting and distributing food to families in need. The effort reached a significant milestone with nearly 7,000 pounds of food donated to local food banks.
Through an eight-week regional food drive across more than 30 communities, over 350 young volunteers gathered and delivered food supplies, contributing more than 1,500 Certified Volunteer Service Hours. Of the total collection, 6,000 pounds were donated to the Chester County Food Bank, while 1,036 pounds went to New Hope Ministries in Harrisburg.
Recognized as one of the largest youth-led service programs in TANA’s history and a major volunteer effort in the Mid-Atlantic region, the drive highlighted strong leadership, teamwork, and community support. TANA leaders expressed gratitude to parents, mentors, coordinators, and volunteers whose collective efforts made this impactful initiative a success.
