Teen Innovators Launch DriveQuest App to Boost Road Safety

Atlanta, Georgia, USA:  A group of local high school students has earned recognition at both state and global levels for their AI-driven app designed to improve teen driving safety.

Earlier this year, in April, the team secured first place in the state-level TiE Young Entrepreneurs Competition, taking home a $1,500 prize for their inventive idea. Their success didn’t end there—they advanced to TiE’s Global Pitch Competition, where they received the “Best Business Execution” award for the clarity, professionalism, and feasibility of their project presentation.

The students developed a mobile application tailored to novice drivers. The app tracks real-time driving metrics, including speed, braking, and acceleration, and calculates a personalized “Drive Score” that gives instant feedback on safe driving behavior. Machine learning algorithms work behind the scenes to study each driver’s habits and provide customized coaching tips, helping teens identify areas for improvement.

“Clear feedback encourages better driving habits,” the students explained. “By offering actionable insights to young drivers, we hope to minimize risky behavior and make our roads safer.”

The team has already built a functional prototype and is refining features for their first minimum viable product (MVP), which is scheduled for launch between late September and early October. Local mentors and county officials have praised the group for their dedication and fast progress toward community safety.

With the MVP just weeks away, DriveQuest promises a practical and engaging tool for parents and teens alike—helping young drivers cultivate safer habits directly from their smartphones. For families seeking guidance and confidence on the road, DriveQuest is a teen-created app built with teens in mind.
