Muscat, Oman: The Telugu Kala Samithi recently hosted sports competitions in Oman designed to highlight the athletic skills of the Telugu community, attracting a large audience of non-resident Indians (NRIs).
Andhra Jyothi Gulf Correspondent: Cricket has traditionally been the favorite sport among Telugu expatriates, with participation in other sports remaining limited. Against this backdrop, the Telugu Kala Samithi in Oman organized a series of competitions to uncover and develop the hidden athletic abilities within the Telugu diaspora.
The initiative focused on games such as badminton, chess, carrom, and other indoor and outdoor sports. The events took place in Muscat, where the President of Telugu Kala Samithi, Kothuru Chinnarao, emphasized the importance of sports in promoting both physical health and mental well-being, whether at home or abroad.
The program was supported and hosted by organizations including Maverick Sports Academy, Arona, Sams, Horizon Media, and Sampangi.
