Telugu Student Missing in Alaska Amid Minus 40 Degree Cold, Police Investigation On

Denali area, Alaska, USA: A Telugu student from Andhra Pradesh has gone missing during a solo journey to the US state of Alaska. The missing student has been identified as Hari Krishna Reddy, a native of Guntur district.

Hari Krishna Reddy Karasani, originally from Addanki in Guntur district, has been reported missing in Alaska, United States. Hari, who was residing in Houston, planned a solo trip to Alaska during the Christmas holiday season to experience its natural beauty.

According to available information, Hari departed for Alaska alone on December 22, 2025. He stayed at a hotel located near the Denali region. Before leaving, he informed his roommates about his travel plans and mentioned that he would return by January 3 or 4. He last communicated with his friends on December 30. On December 31, his mobile phone was switched off, and hotel records indicate that he checked out on the same day.

Cab Travel Raises Questions

Since Hari did not know how to drive, he depended entirely on cab services and local transportation during his stay in Alaska. On December 31, he reportedly left the hotel using a cab. However, it remains unclear where he traveled after that. Who hired the cab and who the driver was are now key points under investigation. Police are also closely examining his credit card transactions, which may provide vital clues regarding his movements.

Extreme Cold Conditions Add to Concern

At the time of his disappearance, Alaska was experiencing extremely harsh weather conditions, with temperatures dropping to minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Exposure to such freezing temperatures, even for a short duration, can cause severe health risks, including hypothermia. Additionally, network connectivity in remote regions of Alaska is limited, making it extremely difficult to seek help or establish communication while traveling alone.

Family in Deep Distress

Hari’s family is in a state of severe anxiety, as there has been no contact or update about him for over a week. His phone remains unreachable, and there has been no activity on his social media accounts. Local police authorities, along with Telugu associations in the United States, are actively involved in search efforts.

Friends of Hari expressed their concern, stating that the combination of heavy snowfall and extreme cold temperatures makes the situation even more alarming. They have been praying for his safe return.

Advisory for Students Abroad

This incident serves as a serious warning for Indian students living overseas. Safety experts recommend avoiding solo travel in extreme weather regions and regularly sharing live location updates with family members. Traveling in groups and staying connected can significantly reduce risks during such trips.
