Cambodia accused Thai forces of using tear gas and rubber bullets, while Thailand said its troops used them to control a protesting crowd.

The standoff occurred in Banteay Meanchey province, with videos showing Cambodians handling tear gas grenades.

The century-old border dispute escalated in July, resulting in at least 48 fatalities and displacing hundreds of thousands, before a Malaysia-brokered ceasefire brought relative calm.
