Trump Imposes 25% Tariffs On Japan, South Korea Amid Trade Tensions

President Trump has announced a 25% tariff on goods imported from Japan and South Korea, set to take effect on August 1.

Announced in April and delayed due to opposition, the tariffs mark a sharp turn in U.S. trade policy toward key Asian allies.

While the UK, Vietnam, and China have struck deals, most nations, including India, are still negotiating. Trump extended the deadline for agreements to August 1 via executive order.

Japan's PM Shigeru Ishiba slammed the move as "economic looting." Trump also hinted at an extra 10% tariff for countries closely aligned with BRICS.
