Trump Imposes Travel Ban on 12 Countries, Citing National Security Concerns

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again made headlines with a sensational decision. Since assuming office for the second time, Trump has been issuing a series of controversial and impactful decisions that have grabbed global attention. In his latest move, he has signed an executive order banning citizens from 12 countries from entering the United States.

Which Countries Are Banned and Why?

The banned countries include Afghanistan, Iran, Yemen, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Libya, Somalia, and Sudan. Citizens from these 12 nations will no longer be allowed to travel to the U.S. The order will take effect from 12 PM on Monday, according to White House officials. Additionally, partial restrictions have been imposed on countries like Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. Legal challenges are expected against this travel ban.

Trump’s Justification and Global Reactions

In a statement, Trump said, "I’m taking this step to protect America, its people, and national interests." He referred to a recent terrorist attack in Boulder County, Colorado, blaming undocumented foreign nationals. Trump emphasized that the U.S. cannot allow immigration from unsafe nations. He also pointed out similar actions taken during his first term in 2017. Following a report from security and intelligence agencies, the new ban was imposed. Meanwhile, Venezuela’s minister Diosdado Cabello responded by warning his citizens not to travel to the U.S., stating it is dangerous for everyone, not just Venezuelans.
