US President Donald Trump said he shares a close relationship with India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking to Modi on his birthday, September 17.
Despite tensions over trade, such as the US raising import tariffs on Indian goods to 50% and plans for additional tariffs on Indian energy from Russia, Trump praised Modi at a press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
India’s Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran said the trade issues would be resolved through bilateral talks.
