Trump Proposes $5 Million Trump Card Citizenship Scheme

Former U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at a possible name change for the immigration-related "Gold Card" in an interview with Fox News. He suggested that if the card carried his name, it would sell even faster. The discussion arose when the anchor mentioned that EB-5 visas had been misused for years, allowing people to obtain Green Cards quickly for an $8,000 fee, even without English proficiency or special skills. Trump interrupted, claiming he had an even more popular alternative.

The anchor then questioned whether he was referring to the Golden Visa, which requires congressional approval. She challenged Trump by asking why U.S. citizenship was being sold when he advocates for "America First." In response, Trump stated that the card would cost $5 million and could generate $5 trillion if 1 million were sold. He argued that this money could help pay off debts, including those owed to China, and create jobs. Trump further revealed that his team wanted to call it the "Trump Card," a name he believed would boost its appeal and sales.

Trump had first introduced the Gold Card concept last month, offering direct U.S. citizenship for a $5 million payment. The initiative aims to attract wealthy individuals worldwide, encouraging them to invest in the U.S. economy. He justified the program by stating that affluent immigrants would spend large sums in America, thereby stimulating job growth.
