At the 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that countries supporting BRICS' "anti-American policies" will face an extra 10% tariff.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump said tariff notices would begin July 7 at 12 PM ET, without detailing the specific policies.
BRICS, now expanded to include Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and others, criticized U.S. tariffs at the summit, though without naming Trump. He reiterated that more tariffs could follow if trade deals aren’t finalized by August 1.
