London: The UK government has made its citizenship rules stricter to prevent illegal immigrants from obtaining citizenship. On Monday, the UK Home Office issued new guidelines to immigration staff in this regard. The guidelines clearly state that individuals who enter the UK illegally or through dangerous journeys should not be granted citizenship.

The directive specifies that any form of illegal entry will be considered a dangerous journey, and applications for citizenship must be rejected accordingly. It emphasizes that regardless of how illegal immigrants travel, their applications should not be accepted.

A spokesperson for the UK Home Office stated that rules were already in place to prevent illegal immigrants from acquiring UK citizenship, but the latest guidelines have made them even stricter.
