Washington, D.C: CEA V Anantha Nageswaran said the 25% penal tariff on some Indian imports could be removed after November 30, reflecting progress in India-US trade talks.
India’s exports, currently USD 850 billion, are expected to reach USD 1 trillion.
The US had raised tariffs on Indian goods to 50%, but key items like iron, steel, aluminium, vehicles, spare parts, and certain copper products are exempt.
About 30% of India’s exports to the US, worth USD 27.6 billion, remain duty-free.
