US Plans Retaliatory Tariffs as India Imposes 100% Duty on American Goods

The United States is preparing to impose retaliatory tariffs on several countries, including India. President Donald Trump is set to announce the final decision on tariffs on April 2. With the deadline for these retaliatory tariffs approaching, there is growing anticipation. Trump has already clarified that there will be no exemptions regarding tariffs. Recently, the White House responded to this issue.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that India is imposing 100% tariffs on American agricultural products. She added that not only India but also other countries are imposing high tariffs on U.S. goods, following unfair trade practices. As a result, exporting American products has become more challenging. She emphasized that the time for retaliation has arrived, and the President is about to implement historic changes.

"Several countries are engaging in unfair trade practices. The European Union imposes 50% tariffs on U.S. dairy products, Japan collects 700% tariffs on American rice, and Canada imposes 300% tariffs on U.S. butter and cheese. Additionally, India enforces 100% tariffs on agricultural products. These barriers make it extremely difficult to export our goods to these markets, severely affecting American businesses. That is why now is the right time to impose retaliatory tariffs, and the President is set to bring historic changes," said Karoline Leavitt.
