US Tightens Rules for H-1B Workers: Biometric and Address Details Now Mandatory

Washington: The Trump administration is implementing stricter rules for H-1B employees working in the U.S. They are now required to submit residential addresses and biometric details.

Foreign workers and attorneys (representing employers) are being issued Requests for Evidence (RFEs) asking for this information. Previously, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) did not request such details, raising concerns among foreign employees and lawyers.

“For USCIS to ask for biometric and residential information is unusual. Employers and attorneys are not being told why this additional information is being requested,” said a Forbes news report, highlighting the growing worry in the immigrant community.
