WGS – 2025: The 12th edition of the World Governments Summit (WGS 2025) was held in Dubai. The summit aims to bring together governments, business executives, and thought leaders from various countries to discuss global governance challenges. UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, hosted the event.
The summit primarily focused on artificial intelligence (AI), climate change, global economic challenges, education, and emerging trends in global trade. Key discussions revolved around the rapid advancements in AI and the competition between China and the U.S. Around 30 world leaders and government officials attended the summit, with most of them sharing their views on the impact of AI.
Oracle Executive Vice President Mike Sicilia stated that AI is an incredible tool that provides a great opportunity for world governments to collaborate. He emphasized that AI can contribute to global development without violating privacy or cybersecurity regulations. He also expressed optimism that AI-driven advancements in the coming years would be beneficial, particularly in healthcare, infectious disease tracking, and personalized medicine recommendations.
