Manchester, England, UK: Ameesh Manek Appointed Director of Football Operations at Manchester United
Ameesh Manek has been entrusted with managing the Carrington training complex, which serves as Manchester United’s main operational hub.
Manchester United FC, the iconic English football club, has officially named Ameesh Manek as its new Director of Football Operations.
Manek, who was born in Tanzania to parents of Indian descent, will now supervise the day-to-day activities of both the men’s and women’s squads at the club.
Previously serving as Chief Operating Officer at Brentford Football Club, Manek has been recruited to join the 146-year-old Manchester institution, reporting directly to Sporting Director Jason Wilcox.
His responsibilities include overseeing the operations at the club’s recently refurbished Carrington training ground, the core centre for United’s football activities.
Manek began his professional journey in the retail sector with Mitchells & Butlers, later moving to Barclays Bank. His transition into international sports came in 2012 when he was appointed as an Independent Board Director for Basketball England.
Before his tenure at Brentford and Manchester United, Manek also held a key role at Arsenal FC, serving as Head of 1st Team Football Operations.
A graduate of London Business School with a degree in Business Administration, Manek brings over 25 years of experience spanning sports, finance, and hospitality across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
