Indian nurse Nimisha Priya, convicted of murdering Yemen national Talal Abdo Mahdi in 2017, has been denied a mercy plea by Yemen’s president.
Her execution is scheduled for July 16. The Kerala native, who moved to Yemen in 2008 and later opened a clinic with Mahdi, claims the killing was in self-defense during a dispute.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs is actively tracking the case and extending assistance to Nimisha Priya’s family during this critical time.
