Why Did Pakistans ISI Dispatch a High-Level Delegation to Bangladesh? Indias Concerns Unfolded

Islamabad, Pakistan:  Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, dispatched a senior delegation to Dhaka, which has raised concerns in India. The delegation, which arrived on an Emirates flight with a stopover in Dubai, was greeted by a senior official from Bangladesh's Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI). The visit follows a recent trip by a Bangladeshi military delegation to Rawalpindi, Pakistan, where they met with top military officials, including Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir.

The ISI delegation, led by Maj Gen Shahid Amir Afsar, includes high-ranking officials and marks the first visit of ISI members to Bangladesh in nearly two decades. The visit involves an extensive tour of Bangladesh's military facilities to assess its military preparedness.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs expressed concern over the visit, stating that they are closely monitoring the situation and will take necessary measures to safeguard national security. India's response follows growing military ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan, which have included recent meetings between senior military leaders from both countries.

Under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership, ISI operations in Bangladesh were previously curtailed due to political interference and extremist support. However, since her departure, Bangladesh's interim government has worked to strengthen military relations with Pakistan.
