Chicago Hindu Womens Network Hosts Women, Wellness  Community Event in Illinois

Schaumburg, Illinois USA: The Chicago Hindu Women's Network successfully organized its "Women, Wellness & Community" event on June 28 in Schaumburg, Illinois, bringing together nearly 130 participants for a day dedicated to women's health, community engagement and cultural celebration. The event was co-hosted by National India Hub and welcomed attendees ranging from high school students and young professionals to community leaders.

The program began with registration and a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by Vaidya Deepti Suri, Archana Agrawal and Dr. Mohini Gupta. A prayer by Kruti Patel and Pinu Dhruna was followed by a welcome address from chapter chair Yashaswini Desai, along with an introductory presentation about the Hindu Women's Network.

The keynote session featured Vaidya Deepti Suri, a seventh-generation Ayurvedic practitioner and NAMA-certified physician, who highlighted the importance of holistic living and women's health. She explained the benefits of Din Charya (daily routine) and Ritu Charya (seasonal routine), emphasizing disciplined lifestyles, healthy food practices and the role of Panchakarma therapy in Ayurveda.

Dr. Mohini Verma addressed the connection between oral health and overall well-being, encouraging participants to maintain proper dental hygiene and undergo routine dental check-ups twice a year.

During the event, Archana Agrawal shared the initiatives of her foundation, explaining its mission to support couples through Hindu weddings and outlining its "Four Pillars of Service" aimed at strengthening community outreach.

Bhavini Patel, Village Trustee of Bolingbrook, Illinois, spoke about civic engagement and community service. She discussed her work with the Indian community in the Chicago suburbs and highlighted the efforts of the Sanskriti Foundation in preserving Sanatan heritage while encouraging greater public participation.

The event also showcased cultural performances by high school students. Kashvi Pandit presented a classical dance performance based on devotion, while Ana Rathi performed an energetic Punjabi dance. The program was hosted by Riddhi Vyas, who advocates for encouraging young women to pursue careers in science.

During the closing ceremony, Yashaswini Desai thanked representatives from National India Hub and several community organizations for their support. Certificates of appreciation were presented to speakers and performers by Sadhana Shinde, Krutiben Patel, Radhika Desai, Seema Verma and Sushmaben Patel.

The event concluded with networking sessions and refreshments, including healthy snacks and buttermilk. Attendees appreciated the informative discussions, cultural performances and opportunities to connect with members of the community.
