Telugu Doctors in UK Unite: Highlights from Birminghams First Gathering

The Andhra Telangana Medical Association hosted the inaugural gathering for Telugu doctors residing in the UK, taking place in Birmingham.

In Birmingham, the first close-knit assembly of Telugu doctors in the UK took place, drawing approximately 300 attendees. This event, organized by the Andhra Telangana Medical Association, aimed to unite doctors from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, fostering collaboration on various issues. The chief guest for the event was Dr. Venkatachalam, the Indian Consul General based in Birmingham.

During the event, Dr. Bapuji Rao Velagapudi, who dedicated over 50 years to the National Health Service (NHS), was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, eight doctors who attained professorship status in the UK were recognized. The honorees included Prof. Madhavi Paladugu, Prof. Waseem Haneef, Prof. Ajay Mahajan, Prof. B.V.S. Murthy, Prof. Chandra Cheruvu, Prof. Srinivas Vallabhaneni, Prof. Venu Kavartapa, and Prof. Tirumala Krishna. The gathering included discussions on professional skills and featured cultural programs.
