Chicago Andhra Association Sankranti Rangoli Competitions Held in Chicago

Chicago, Illinois, USA: On the occasion of the Sankranti festival, the Chicago Andhra Association organized colorful Rangoli competitions, drawing enthusiastic participation from the community and earning appreciation from guests.

The event witnessed a large turnout, with participants showcasing creativity and cultural spirit. The competitions were conducted in three categories, making the celebrations vibrant and engaging. The initiative added a festive charm to the Sankranti celebrations and reflected the association’s commitment to promoting traditional art forms.

Association President for 2026, Tamishra Konchada, formally inaugurated the celebrations by extending Sankranti greetings to attendees. Chairman Raghava Jatla, along with Vice Presidents Ramakrishna, Sahiti Kotha, Ramya Myneni, and Padmarao Appalaneni, played a key role in coordinating the event arrangements.

The competitions were judged by Dr. Uma Katiki, Ramya Rodda, and Malleshwari Pedamallu. Prizes were awarded to the first, second, and third place winners in recognition of their artistic excellence.

As part of the festivities, the executive committee members served traditional Sankranti dinner prepared at their homes to all guests. Several members, including Shruti Kuchampudi, Sujatha Appalaneni, Ramya Maineni, Padmaja Gandra, Harini Meda, and others, actively contributed to the successful conduct of the event. Narasimha Reddy Oggu proposed the vote of thanks, concluding the celebrations on a joyful note.
