Seattle, Washington, India: Jigar Thakkar, a former Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, has been appointed to lead Amazon Web Services’ newly launched product, Amazon Quick Suite.
Amazon confirmed Thakkar’s appointment, stating that he will be responsible for building and leading a team focused on developing a portfolio of agentic applications and services aimed at enterprise and business users.
Before joining Amazon Web Services, Thakkar spent seven years at New York-based financial services firm MSCI, where he served as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Engineering. Prior to MSCI, he built a nearly two-decade-long career at Microsoft, progressing from software developer to Corporate Vice President in 2017.
Amazon noted that Thakkar brings more than 25 years of experience in driving digital transformation and engineering excellence across global financial services and major technology platforms. The company also highlighted his role as the founding engineering leader of Microsoft Teams.
In his new role, Thakkar will lead Amazon Quick Suite, an AI-powered digital workspace for AWS designed to help organizations uncover insights, automate workflows, and take action across enterprise applications.
Thakkar holds a Bachelor’s degree from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California.
