Amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel, India has launched Operation Sindhu to evacuate its citizens from Iran. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that 110 Indian students, mostly from Kashmir and studying at Urmia Medical University, were moved to Armenia with help from Indian missions.
A special flight from Yerevan is scheduled to land in New Delhi around 2 am on June 19. The evacuation follows Israel's Operation Rising Lion, which has escalated the situation in Tehran. Indian nationals in the area have been urged to stay vigilant and adhere to government advisories.
The MEA stated that more guidelines will follow as the situation evolves, and praised the coordinated efforts ensuring Indian citizens' safety.
