Russia launched four drones at a five-storey apartment block in Kharkiv on Monday, killing at least five people, including a 1.5-year-old girl, and injuring over a dozen others.
The attack, which occurred before dawn, reduced part of the building to rubble and ignited fires on three floors, according to regional governor Oleg Synegubov.
Rescue teams were seen navigating debris and rubble, working tirelessly to reach people stranded amid the chaos.
Earlier, the city was hit by ballistic missiles, wounding 11 people. Russia also struck Odesa, setting a fuel facility ablaze.
The attacks came ahead of talks in Washington between Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and European allies.
Trump urged Zelenskyy to accept a peace deal but ruled out Ukraine joining NATO or reclaiming Crimea, a position Zelenskyy has consistently resisted.
