Tensions have flared again between Thailand and Cambodia over the Ta Muen Thom Temple, part of a Khmer Hindu complex in the Dangrek Mountains.
The 900-year-old Preah Vihear Temple, sacred to both countries, has long been disputed. In 1962, the International Court ruled that it belongs to Cambodia, a decision reaffirmed in 2013.
Recent clashes began after Cambodia allegedly sent drones over Thai military sites, prompting gunfire and the evacuation of 40,000 Thai villagers.
The temple’s unique design and religious importance keep it at the center of conflict. A viral video of Cambodian soldiers singing their anthem there recently worsened tensions.
