Indian-origin man found shot dead in Brampton car; cops suspect targeted strike

Brampton, Ontario, Canada:  A 25-year-old resident of Brampton lost his life after being shot while inside his parked car, in what investigators believe was a planned attack. Police have not officially confirmed his identity, but posts circulating on social media claim he may be of Indian background and could have become entangled in an ongoing gang rivalry.

Officers from Peel Regional Police rushed to the area near Hurontario Street and Bartley Bull Parkway shortly after 7 p.m. when witnesses reported that a vehicle had been fired upon. According to an update shared on X, police found the man alone and not responding when they reached the scene. The attackers had already left.

Constable Mandeep Khatra explained that officers broke a window of the car in an attempt to reach the man quickly and begin emergency care. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead where he was found.

“It’s a deeply upsetting situation. Thankfully, no bystanders were injured,” Khatra said, adding that investigators will continue working around the clock to trace those responsible and gather more clues.
