Melbourne, Victoria,Australia: A 42-year-old Indian-origin truck driver, Supinder Pal Singh, was brutally attacked outside his home in the early hours, with police describing the incident as a possible targeted assault.
According to 7News, CCTV footage shows the attack occurred around 5 am on Catees Street as Singh stepped out toward his truck. One assailant confronted him and knocked him to the ground with a single punch, after which a second attacker joined in. The pair repeatedly punched and kicked Singh, leaving him motionless before fleeing.
Singh’s family members were asleep during the attack and were unaware of what had happened. Despite serious injuries, Singh managed to crawl to the front door to seek help after the attackers escaped. He is currently receiving treatment for a fractured skull and a broken nose.
His sister, Suman Preet Kaur, said the assault appeared to be an attempt on his life. She described blood spread across the street, inside the house, and on his face, adding that the attackers ensured he was not moving before leaving, including kicking him in the head.
Police continue to investigate the incident as a targeted attack. Suman Preet also revealed that Singh had received threats about two weeks earlier and that unfamiliar people had been seen near their home, though authorities have not confirmed any recent dispute or motive.
