A powerful 6.7 magnitude earthquake jolted Indonesia’s Tanimbar Islands on Monday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake occurred at a depth of 110 km around 11:20 AM IST, with the epicentre near the Banda Sea, an area prone to seismic activity.
No tsunami threat or reports of damage or casualties have been reported. Indonesia’s BMKG is monitoring the situation and has urged residents to stay alert for aftershocks.
