Jersey City, NJ, USA: The event was attended by notable elected leaders, including Assemblyman Ravi Bhalla and Assemblywoman Katie Brennan.

Jersey City’s South Asian residents recently gathered for a reception honouring Tom Zuppa’s notable win as a City Councilman, alongside Mamta Singh, the region’s first Indian American councilwoman.

The gathering served as a platform to unite residents, civic leaders, and community partners around shared objectives: fostering a safer, more affordable, and more cohesive Jersey City.

Organisers of the celebration included Riaz Wahid, Sunny Kumar, Harkesh Thakur, Manmit Singh, and Anjuman Juweria. Reflecting on the occasion, they stated, “By working together, we can strengthen our neighbourhoods, uplift our families, and create a city where every resident feels respected and heard.”

They further emphasised, “This celebration marks the start of ongoing efforts—our collaborative work continues, and we are committed to building an even stronger Jersey City, side by side.”

The reception was also graced by elected officials such as Assemblyman Ravi Bhalla, Assemblywoman Katie Brennan, and County Commissioner William O’Dea, among others.
