Kamala Harris has formally declined to run for California governor in 2026, silencing rumors and confirming she won't enter the race.
In a social media post, the former senator and vice president said she deeply considered the role but ultimately decided against it, stating, "I love this state, but I won't be running."
She emphasized her ongoing commitment to public service and hinted at plans, which she'll announce soon.
Harris has previously run for president twice, most recently in 2024, when she lost to Donald Trump.
