Kerala nurse Nimisha Priya has received major relief as Yemen postponed her scheduled execution.
The move follows diplomatic efforts by India and talks led by religious leaders with the victim’s family.
Nimisha was convicted in 2018 for the murder of her Yemeni business partner, allegedly caused by a sedative overdose. Her family is preparing to offer $1 million in compensation to seek clemency.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs remains in contact with Yemeni officials to resolve the case.
