Reports claiming that Kerala nurse Nimisha Priya's death sentence has been revoked are false, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
While some sources, including the Grand Mufti's office, stated that the Yemeni government had decided to cancel the sentence, the MEA clarified that no official confirmation has been received.
Amid intense diplomatic negotiations by Indian authorities, the execution of Nimisha Priya, convicted in Yemen for a fatal passport dispute, was unexpectedly delayed just hours before its scheduled date.
